Education grant is provided to a deceased member’s children who are left in school. The grant is planned to pay for children’s school fees and provide other schooling requirements until they complete advanced secondary school (form six).
GEPF members’ desire is to see their children complete primary, secondary and advanced secondary school inorder to join higher learning institutions. If the member dies before fulfilling this desire, GEPF takes over the responsibility of providing education grant to the children left in school until they complete form six.
• The benefit is granted to a maximum of four children of the deceased member
• The education grant per child per annum is 1/12th of the annual pensionable emolument
of the deceased member.
